Synopsis: Building energy efficiency codes are unlike any other building regulation. The need to be flexible but also consistent poses challenges for applying the code and enforcement. In the two years since Alberta implemented its first energy efficiency code for buildings industry has learned how to best address the subtleties of the code and municipalities have evolved in their methods for enforcement. Join City of Calgary’s Justin Pockar and DIALOG’s Alexander Tansowny for a discussion on what we have learned applying the NECB and where energy codes are going in the future.
