With this being a very unusual year for SAC ASHRAE due to COVID restrictions, our finances have been varied and more estimating had to be done with the budget than in years past.
We were expecting to operate at a deficit of roughly $3000. We currently have a surplus of roughly $2000 without only a few months left in the ASHRAE year. This is due to two factors. The first and primary factor was continued support from our membership even without events and networking activities. The second factor was lower than expected costs. We were hoping to be able to host some events in early 2021, but obviously that didn’t work out. Thank you for the support and we look forward to industry events in the future. As with previous years, a full summary of the 2020/2021 year and budget will be released with next ASHRAE year.
Hope to see you all soon.

Although we have not formally reached the end of the ASHRAE year, with events cancelled for the foreseeable future, we would like to provide a brief financial update.
As of the end of March 2020, the budget deficit is $ 7,313. This is less than the anticipated deficit of $ 13,000 and thus is a success. A majority of this deficit is due to our annual RP contribution of $5,800. Further end of year events like the Golf Tournament are generally quite profitable. At this point we have tentatively postponed the Golf Tournament to August 20th.
As with previous years, we will provide a full summary of the fiscal year early next ASHRAE year.
Enjoy your summer, Alexander.

This year’s budget was passed at our October dinner meeting. It is posted on the website under Treasurer.
In the next few months we will audit the financial account of the chapter for the last 3 years; 2015, 2016, 2017. As per our chapter bylaw; past presidents not serving the audited years can serve on the auditing committee. I will be reaching out to some past presidents for their assistance. However if you are a past president and would like to volunteer please feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
Saron Zerai
