As our current RP Chair, I would like to thank all of our members for their generosity towards the RP Campaign so far this year!
Our 2017/2018 ASHRAE RP goal is $18,250.00, we are nearly 75% of the way there with our current donation total standing at $13,400.00!
For our final push we will be starting our 2017/2018 calling campaign in the very near future. If you have yet to make your company or personal donation, please see below for instructions on how to donate along with details on how ASHRAE utilizes these funds.
Who is ASHRAE?
ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is an international organization of 55,000 members. It is the world’s foremost technical society in the fields of HVAC&R. Through its meetings, research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education, the Society helps keep indoor environments comfortable and productive, deliver healthy food to consumers and preserve the outdoor environment.

ASHRAE conducts timely research to remain the foremost, authoritative and responsive international source of technical and educational information, standards and guides on the interaction between people and the indoor and outdoor environment through the operation of HVAC&R systems in buildings and other applications. The donations that are raised by the Southern Alberta Chapter of ASHRAE fund this research. Every dollar raised is a dollar towards ASHRAE Research!
ASHRAE RP - The Five Funds
ASHRAE RP raises donations for all of the ‘resources’ of ASHRAE. The ‘resources are broken into five (5) general funds:
Research and Sustainability Projects – research projects relating to the HVAC&R industry.
Education (ASHRAE Learning Institute) – The ASHRAE Learning Institute (ALI) offers a wide range of professional development seminars (ASHRAE webinars) and short course (ASHRAE online learning, HVAC Design training, Self-directed learning, etc.) to all HVAC&R professionals.
Foundation – ASHRAE Foundation is an endowed trust that provides funding for professional development and research programs, supplies qualified engineering students with much needed scholarship assistance, and ensures that ASHRAE will continue to have sufficient resources to sustain and expand the Society's vital work.
Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) – Through the general, YEA support helps fund YEA Institute programs, educational and professional development, the YEA leadership weekend and Leadership international and the HVAC Design Essentials Scholarship.
ASHRAE Scholarships – ASHRAE RP provides support to 24 ASHRAE controlled scholarships.
