In February, we received great feedback from our visit from ASHRAE’s past president, Sheila Hayter. Her case study on a research support facility provided great insights on how to incorporate renewable energy (RE) technologies into building designs and operations.
As I am sure you are aware, in light of the pandemic we had to cancel the ASHRAE Learning Institute (ALI) training course, High-Performance Building Design: Applications and Future Trends. We are continuing to review the situation and may be able to offer this course at a later date. We will keep you posted. In the meantime, on May 14th, the Vancouver Island chapter is providing a webinar on “Promoting the HVAC Industry for a Sustainable Future”. If you are interested in attending, you can register on their website https://www.ashrae.bc.ca/.
During this difficult time, ASHRAE has put together an Epidemic Task Force and provided some technical resources (https://www.ashrae.org/technical-resources/resources) to assist in addressing the challenges of the current pandemic and future epidemics as it relates to HVAC systems. I encourage you to review the information they have provided.
Stay safe!
